Kanama Kopi Kadai was first opened in Kuala Lumpur by my mother in 1984. Kanama is her name while 'kopi' in the Malay language means coffee and 'kadai' is a Tamil word which means shop. It was a family run coffee stall which was a favourite place for the people near and far to come for breakfast and lunch, and hang out.
Serving delicious authentic Malaysian favourites for 35 years, the stall was frequented by the young and the old from all walks of life.
This restaurant is now opened by me and my wife to continue the family legacy here to serve the Wellingtonians with classic Malaysian food with a twist for everyone to enjoy.
